I will get back to the KAOS workouts tomorrow and will have some video for you all, because I know it is impossible to decipher most exercises…but today I’m all about the supplements. I went into a supplement store today and was ambushed by all the new and exciting packaging! I mean wouldn’t I buy the mega ripped fat burning pills??? The package says I will be ripped in 10 days. The truth of the matter is that supplements are just that, supplementing what you are not getting in your nutritional program. I have taken it all (no juice here though, if you want advise on that you are reading the wrong blog) creatine, glutamine, ripped fuel… so what do you buy?
I left the store with my usual protein powder, no-explode and amino acids. As far as multivitamins are concerned, I try to get all my vitamins from real foods such as spinach, broccoli, apples, asparagus and the list goes on and on. I have read too many studies saying that you can not put the same vitamins in a pill, and that makes sense to me. I don’t always have time to plan out my snacks so to keep my daily nutrition regular the shakes are good in a pinch. I love my no-explode or what I call go-juice, even when I don’t feel like working out - it kicks me up, coffee works too, but if you have any workout upper make sure you drink at least 16 ounces of water before your workout or you are going to crash and burn. If you don’t need the workout upper don’t start, it tends to get a bit addictive. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein, which helps you build those lean muscles. The fact is that real foods and real vitamins and real protein are better than anything that starts with a syntha or beta. Simple is better. A little hint - your local farmer’s market is a better supplement store than GNC.
