5 weight loss tips

I am happy to report that today I’m down to 145 lbs!  So far I have lost 5 lbs in less than two weeks.  My intention was not to try to lose weight as quickly as possible.  Nonetheless, with the habits I am trying to develop now, the weight seems to be coming off fast anyway.  I would like to share with you, dear readers, what is working for me right now:

 1.  Drink two glasses of water when you first wake up in the morning, and then several more throughout the day.  I have been squeezing a few drops of lemon into my water as well.

 2.  Eat frequently.  In the past when trying to lose weight, I would go as long as I could stand without eating.  This didn’t work because my raging hunger would eventually cause me to wolf down everything set before me.  Temptation is much easier to resist when you are not absolutely starving.

 3.  Eat nuts.  I have been eating a combination of almonds, walnuts, cashews and peanuts every day.  Some days I have eaten up to half a cup of this wonderful combo!  No oil or salt of course, and when paired with a fruit will keep you going until the next meal.

 4.  Don’t eat carbs in the evening.  This is something an old personal trainer advised me to do several years ago, but I never took her advice until now.

 5.  Drink a glass of skim milk before bed.  Sometimes a couple of hours after supper I am actually hungry again.  Rather than go to bed hungry and toss and turn all night, I drink a glass of skim milk.  It really helps!

These five suggestions are really simple to implement.  I hate feeling hungry and deprived, and these little ideas help get you through the day with energy to spare.
