Did Cindy

That just sounds funny coming from a married man – whose wife’s name is definitely NOT cindy. Well, she had her way with me.  I did what I could but I think if you were to keep score, I think it would be Cindy 59, Kiser 9.  Not really close, but I did score.  I did the workout backwards – I didn’t know there was an order.  I saw a lot of people doing the pull ups (see my blog called “snakes, why’d they have to be snakes” to understand my love of pull ups) so I started with the squats.  I did as many as I could and finished with an embarrassing 5 2/3 rounds.  I was completely out of energy.  It was like someone slugged my arms.  I barely made it through the last set of push ups.  I had 10 seconds to go and I wanted to do the pull ups.  That would have made a full 6 rounds.  But I just couldn’t. I get it all I could to do round 4 and I don’t think I got above the bar.  I couldn’t go any farther.  Sad.  But I took years to put on all this fat.  I took years of neglecting my muscles and body.  I expect this.  I also expect to do better next time.  Some of the guys did 17 rounds.  Wow, that must be nice.  Some day. I’ll get there some day.

Now I don’t know about you, but if you have started Crossfit, do you notice that you don’t crave the junk food as much?  I have noticed.  A quick McDonalds hamburger just doesn’t sound appealing.  But the same goes for other fast food.  I just don’t feel like it anymore.  Maybe I know what it will do to me.  Maybe I know what I need to do to get rid of it.  Not really sure, but I have simply lost interest.

You know, here is the other weird thing.  After Cindy, we were all exhausted.  No one was talking, only a few people were moving. You know what it’s like.  Then after about 5 minutes, we were all talking and laughing.  Where did all that energy come from.  A few minutes before we were dead tired.  I was ready to try some more.  (I probably wouldn’t have been successful, but I was willing to give it a go).

For dinner, I had really great salad (my wife made it…yum!) a little left over turkey chili and one chicken sausage, with some cheese.  Again, I don’t think that was too bad.  No food coma which I think is a good indicator. Mind you there are taquitos in the frig right now, and they are begging me…not going to do it though.  my weigh in is tomorrow.  Hopefully falling off the wagon didn’t hurt too much.

Until next time

Never, ever give up!
