Indiana, I feel your pain. Today at team sadistic crossfit, we were lifting a medicine ball (I still don’t know what kind of med’s are in that thing!), sumo deadlifts (or 500 meters rowing) and ….. pull ups (oh crap). You see, pull ups are my version of snakes. I knew this day would come some time. My arms are not as strong as I would like them, so while this day was coming, I was hoping that I would have more time to develop something beside the marshmellows that I currently have. It was a timed WOD and I did 2 2/3 rounds. I had to take a serious stop though. I was about to lose my lunch. Seriously. It was after the rowing, and Uncle Pukie was knocking on the door. (Actually that would be really badass!). However no one can say that I am not pushing myself. I needed to use a rubber band for the pull ups. The first one that was on would have made it too easy, so we switched it up and had one with less resistance. Yes that was appropriate. I had a hard time doing the second round. I liked the push. Now I know that I will be sore tomorrow. Why? Because I am bloody sore now. No tylenol or advil though. Time to cowboy up. No amount of stretching is going to help relieve the soreness, so suck it up.
Oh Uncle Pukie stayed with me until about 10pm, and for those of you that don’t know, the workout stopped at 8:30. I almost lost it in the car too. I had some water. Apperantly water must be very hard to digest… or at least it was for me. Nice huh!
Ok, so I have asked for some suggestions regarding my endurance (I am changing it from stamina to endurance). So I think I was better today. I took the suggestions and tested them today. Lots of water and I had an apple around 6:00 pm to give me that additional burst. I definitely had more energy at the end of Krav and made it through about 1/2 of the CF class before the tank started to run low. Still when the last minute sounded, I pushed again. Not easy but to break through the endurance cap, I need to keep going even when I don’t think I can. Based on the fact that I could barely keep lunch down and I couldn’t eat for 1 1/2 hours after the workout, I think I am on the right, albeit difficult, path.
My meals today were pretty good. I am making some adjustments. I was very proud of my lunch (this isn’t twitter but I am going to talk about my lunch). I had a decent size salad and I asked the chef if I could have a piece of chopped chicken on the top. I still haven’t finished the Zone, but this meal seemed more in line with his guidelines. Dinner wasn’t as good…leftovers. Still going to do a smaller workout on Tuesday and Wednesday. Hoping that more than 1 pound will come off by then. If not I have a very strong vacuum cleaner and I have watch enough ER shows to do my own lipo. I was going to upload a pic, but I am having some difficultly uploading it from my Iphone. Sarah was kind enough to take it for me. Here, let me try to visualize it for you. Imagine you were to run through the desert for 6 hours. You can barely open your eyes to see much less drive home. Then someone comes along and dumps 4 or 5 buckets of water on your head. You look exhausted (because you are) and you are covered with water (or in my case sweat). Yep, that’s it. I had to lean against the wall so she could take the picture. I was beat. How beat? Doing this typing makes my arms hurt. THAT is beat.
One more request. What is some good workout music? I like lose yourself by eminem, but what other ones make sense? Any suggestions?
Until next time!
Cheers!
